Review on Celeteque DermoScience Acne Solutions

I’m suffering from massive break out….. AGAIN….(>_<)

Just as I thought my acne journey is finally over…but NYOOOOOOOOO….
I’m breaking out……..AGAIN…-__-

I don’t know if its because of the weather since I just came back from Korea last month and when I returned home…Yikesss! Pimples start popping out…and not just pimple but CYSTIC one!..Oh god!! Here we go AGAIN……=’(

And I discovered one thing, I’m immune to MarioBadescu’s product already!!! Thus it is NOT effective for me anymore.. =(

To make it even worst, I also discovered that BenzoylPeroxide, Salicylic Acid, and Calamine doesn’t work for me anymore thus leave me no choice but to seek for alternatives.

I remember that a so-called “AHA” is also considered an effective treatment for acne thus I decided to further check on it.

AHA in short for Alpha Hydroxy Acid claims it can help clear up acne and fade acne scars effectively. Basically AHA’s combats acne and rejuvenate skin by increasing skin cell turnover. You can visit acne.org for further info about AHA.

Okay, now I know AHA might possibly help clear my acnes but the question is where the heck do I buy AHA products????!!!!!So one day I was roaming around Watson’s until I saw the new Acne Line of Celeteque. I found out that their Acne Line contains hydroxy acids!!! And it ‘s exactly what I’m looking for!!

Here’s my review on using Celeteque:DermoScience+ “ACNE SOLUTIONS” Line:

     ACNE Cleansing Gel        PHP270

·  Cleanses skin to help reduce acne and impurirites without over drying
·  Main ingredients Hydroxy Acid that exfoliates and reduce blemishes and acne breakouts
·  Helps reduce acne caused by blockage of pores due to dirt and impurirites

Rinse face first with COLD water then wash face using Acne Cleansing Gel. The consistency is watery gel, makes skin squeaky clean but NOT over drying. Skin felt very much refreshed and hydrated after wash.

  OIL CONTROL TONER        PHP117

·   Removes stubborn dirt
·   Contains Aloe Vera and Chamomile extracts that helps soothe skin

After washing face with ACNE Cleansing Gel, apply Oil Control Toner ONLY on areas with Acne/pimple or oily areas. Let it dry. Effectively remove all dirt thoroughly at the same time soothen flamed areas. Upon application, skin might turn a bit reddish especially to those acne affected areas but will later subsides and soothens skin.

·   Contains Acnacidol BG that helps sebum secretion in acne-prone skin
·   Contains French Spring Water for smoothening and moisturizing of skin

Once the Oil Control Toner completely dries up, spread sufficient amount of Acne Clearing Facial Moisturizer Gel all over the face and let the skin absorbed for a few minutes.
It makes your skin feel tight and look Crystal Clear. This is a very nice Moisturizer because it literally improves your skin texture and at the same time heals those imperfections.

  ACNE SPOT GEL    PHP169

·   Corrects acne imperfections within 24hours
·   Used Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) with Poly Hydroxy Acid (PHA) which aids in exfoliating dead skin cels and helps diminish pimples
·   Contains Lilac extract that helps prevent future breakouts
·   Effectively reduce acne by as much as 80% in just one day

Once the Acne Clearing Facial Moisturizer Gel is deeply absorbed by the skin, apply liberal amount of ACNE SPOT GEL on affected areas and spread EVENLY.

This is my favorite product of the entire line as it really works! Though it doesn’t really clear pimple/acne within 24hrs but it does reduce the inflammation and size of the acne/pimple significantly.

In my case, I have one CYSTIC acne on my chin and I applied the ACNE SPOT GEL several times (3-4x) a day and the CYSTIC ACNE subsides on the 3rd day and cleared up on the 6th day. Though it still has that tiny red spot but is not that noticeable anymore.

This ACNE SPOT GEL will NOT BURN or PEEL your skin badly as to what Benzoyl Peroxide does. Though it might stung a little but is TOTALLY tolerable. At first few days, it will MILDLY peel the affected areas into a new layer of skin but  will NOT appear flaky (see pics below for reference). The only downside is this tube is easily consumed, I can finish this tube in just 4-5days!!!!

Overall Review on Celeteque:DermoScience+ “ACNE SOLUTIONS” Line:
It is affordable yet effective Acne Treatment Regime. Though it might NOT work overnight but it does heals acne/pimples gradually. As you can see on the pictures, it is NOT an overnight process it takes 7-14days until you see a massive improvement. This 3 weeks period, I consumed 1 Cleansing Gel, 1 Toner, 2 Moisturizing Gel and 3 Tubes of ACNE SPOT GEL. If you are unsure on trying out the entire range then I recommend to just purchase the ACNE SPOT GEL first. If the ACNE SPOT GEL works, then try using the entire range. IF not, then I suggest to just skip it and look for alternatives instead.
 ====================================
Just my 2cents with regards to those acne treatments:
1)       Benzoyl Peroxide- this is very effective to those who are suffering from severe acne or massive breakouts.
Cons: Skin will turn reddish, slightly burn and experience peeling of skin

2)       Salicylic Acid- this is effective for people who develops acne once in awhile.
Cons: Not effective for acne prone people, suitable for people who only have mild pimple

3)       AHA or BHA- This is considered in between BP and Salicylic Acid. Effective treatment for those with sensitive skin as it doesn’t burn or peels your skin badly.
Cons: Would not see immediate results

4)       Retinol/Tretinoin- Also known as effective acne treatment but I haven’t tried it, will update this post if I was able to try this out.

  1. hi! did you experience the purging stage? Been using it for 3 days and I think I'm breaking out more than before i used it

  2. @Anonymous: I did not went through/experience purging stage. But give it a week or two, you should have notice improvement on the 7th day or if not try extending it to 14days. Your skin might probably still be adjusting..thus the reason of purging..If case still worsen, then I suggest to stop using it as your skin might not be suitable....Let me know how it goes so that we could work this out..Hope that it would go well on your skin..=)

  5. @Anonymous: thanks so much for the suggestion...Yup, I've tried it before..nun si Kristine Hermosa pa yun endorser..I've tried it but it burned my skin badly...that I need to apply ointment in order to heal the burned skin...so I stopped immediately.....
Thanks so much for dropping by din..I've been fighting acne for more than decades, until now..fight fight padin...Hope I can end it na..But it seems that pimples love my skin so much kaya hindi ko cya mapalayas...>_<

  6. @Anonymous: I have sensitive skin and I didn't experience any discomfort plus its dermatologist tested so I think its okay for sensitive...But if you have extreme sensitivity, I suggest to test it first in your palm just to be sure...
Pramis, I didn't experience itchiness, redness or any discomfort at all...Yes, may peeling cya..pero super duper MILD as in hindi nga masyado pansin...plus yun peeling nya dun lang sa mga parts na may cystic acne..
Actually it works like this, If you have cystic acne, it will first flatten the acne, then turned into a hard brown *thingy*, lastly peeled off and revealed new skin.

    Hope this helps =)

  13. A guy here! Also acne-prone for almost a decade now! Thanks for a very convincing post Ms.Janet. I'll try this next week. I just need to buy these products. I think only Watsons and SM sell these. Do you also think so?
Actually, I was able to buy 2 of Celeteque Dermoscience products last Monday - Nov21. But I bought the Hydration products instead of the Acne Solutions coz Watsons and SM didn't have this yet available. I now have Facial Wash and Gentle Exfoliating Facial Wash. So I believe when I get all the acne solutions products, I will set aside the Hydration products.
I am so positive to experience same or much better results. But I am also thingking of what products to use when I get the smooth face. Should I continue using the Acne Solutions or should I switch to Hydration or any other. I'll see.
Anyway, thank you so much again. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  14. @Anonymous: Yes, of course =) Tell your brother to not worry that much, its just acne, it will go away eventually..ako nga 10years na ako tadtad ng acne, but I'm still sofar with confidence! hehe~

  16. @Ron: Hi Ron, hope Celeteque would deliver great results to you too! =) Update us on how it goes so that we could all share our experience on battling acne.

I think Mercury and Robinsons Supermarket does carries Celeteque as well but not really sure if the entire range is available though.

In my case, I suggest to stop using the Acne solution once your acne had cleared up orelse your skin would pretty much dries up.

BTW, I tried the Hydration range the one with the spray thing, I didn't like it. It makes my skin itch and red therefore I didn't try the other stuff anymore. So can't really comment on whether the Hydration range is good or not..

Goodluck in your journey! and thanks for dropping by =)

  19. @Anonymous: hellos! I tried the Clean & Clear AcneKit before and it does work on its few weeks but eventually I just got immune.. (hindi ko pa nga naubos yun kit)If I were you, I would suggest to try Celeteque rather kasi its hypo-allergenic/dermatologist tested so I think its more suitable for sensitive skin person like us =)

  24. You actually did a good review about celeteque's products. It's been 2 weeks since I've started using the acne spot gel and it did work. After a night the swelling disappeared. Seriously! The saleslady advised me to apply sa part na parang tutubuan na ng pimples and fortunately hindi tumuloy ang pag swelling nila. Acne prone din ang skin ko and I've been fighting them also since... a long time ago? I used some korean skin care products but they are too expensive for a student like me and I don't want to ask money to my parents. LOL.So that's when I decided to try Celeteque's products. I'm also using the tri-benefit cream, though I'm only 21. Do you I should continue using it? But then it did brightened up my face hhhmmmm... I'm planning to buy the facial acne clearing gel and spot corrector... But I was wondering kung alin ang uunahin ko i-apply... tri benefit cream or yung clearing gel? Help me out Ms. Janet... please? Thanks a lot in advance! <3

    ReplyDelete
  25. @Akai nekko: hellos! nice to hear that Celeteque works for you too...=) I haven't tried the Tri-benefit cream yet so I'm not really sure how the cream works...As for Acne Clearing Facial Gel...it targets on acne prone skin talga..and its a nice moisturizer kasi once applied it makes your skin look clear and tight...plus it helps to heals acne din..=)

    2. hi dear, it depends sa severity ng pimples. On the latter days, I only use the spot corrector and I did notice that my pimples are getting smaller and eventually cleared up after 7-10 days (yun nga lang it left redness as seen as photos =(

  28. I'm back... but for a bad news Ms. Janet! =(

I never thought these Celeteque products for Acne couldn't work for me. They even made my face worse. I was very positive then but nothing happened. I was expecting that my face would look like at least what's on your pictures taken on the 2nd and 3rd week or even better results but it's otherwise.

I was able to buy/collect all the products from the gel, toner, mosturizing to spot corrector last Nov 28, 2011 at Watsons. I'm using these for almost 3 weeks now. I got MORE breakout and now blisters (butlig) under my cheeks near the chin. I just told myself, that breaking out more was really part of the process.

I even washed with COLD water (with a question on my mind: Why Cold Janet? Why not tap water?).I stop washing cold water on the second week and instead go with the tap water upon observing on the first week that my acne/pimples couldn't get dry. But nothing happened. My face still had breakout and oil on it. Then I tried not using the Acne Clearing Facial Mosturizer Gel, for I believe it's the one contributing to a more oil secretion. Again, nothing happened. I even got to the extent of using the Acne Spot Correction Gel VERY generously. Unfortunately, you know what I would say. =(

Like what most people say "It's HIYANGAN".

Just yesterday, Dec 14, I went back to my derma and had my pimples and blisters pricked. My face is now better but I don't want to spend alot of money doing such. So I really need to find a product in which I can have a soft and smooth, acne-free face in an inexepensive way.

I never wanted to discourage any one! I'm just telling what just happened to me.

May God help me or you guys can! I'm still positive. This is just a face. I'm still cute. ;-) Nyaha. Smile always.

    2. Sorry to hear that the products didn't work for you but it is expected that one product doesn't fit all. Try staying on the noncomedogenic line, try cetaphil antibacterial soap. It is my bath soap because I have acne on my chest and back. It has disappeared after 3 days of using it. I will switch to another noncomedogenic soap after 6 months so that my skin won't get too used to cetaphil maybe I will go for neutrogena as an alternative. Noncomedogenic products is what most dermatologist would highly recommend because they are gentle cleansers and are good for the most sensitive skin as it doesn't clog pores and cause pimples. Good luck!

  29. @Ron: Hi Ron! Oh gawd...I'm sorry for what had happen...I guess you are right, it really depends on each person skin condition....really sorry to hear 'bout that...but at least your skin has now recovered after going to the derma...=) I wash my face with cold eversince because it tightens my skin and minimize the redness that acne had caused me.. I dunno its only my own theory, I think washing my face with cold water helps "freeze" those acnes and tone down the redness of my skin.....Thanks for updating us the results, it will be an eye opener to those who wants to try this as well....Stay cute...haha..=)

My acne is not that severe but it never goes away! i still have very small acne on my cheeks w/c needs to be remove by pricking! I need facial lol But anyways this is a good product together with my glutathione injection! Idk if it's the gluta or celeteque that works :P i guess both.. But people try it..

  34. Good day! :)
A 17-year old guy here. Been experiencing acne breakouts for almost a year now. I have an oily skin which I guess contributed alot sa paglabas ng mga pimples ko.

Dati I've used Maxipeel Exfoliating Soap, quite harsh siya sa skin pero okay ang results, almost 5 months ko siya ginamit, dun lang mejo nawala pimples ko. Cheap pero harsh sa skin.

I've tried Clean and Clear din, ung Acne Clearing facial cleanser at yung gel, 2 months kong ginamit, okay naman pero mejo matagal ang process.

Then I've tried Celeteque, 1 week ko nang gamit. Kumpleto ko yung set and I say na effective siya! Most especially yung Acne Spot Gel! Ngayon, konti nalang pimples ko and I keep thinking positively na on my third week of using this product eh ma-attain ko yung clear skin na gusto ko. :) yun lang, acne marks ang susunod na kalaban. Haha :)

Thank you Ms. Janet! I'll keep posting updates hanggang 3rd week ng usage ko.

    God bless po! :)

  39. wow that's what i call a REVIEW! mine is a different case. i get comedones adn only a few real pustuleacne. i get a lot of whiteheads and blackheads when i breakout and when it gets infected, it becomes one damn cystic acne. and to add insult to injury, i get regular atopic dermatitis or eczema on the corners of my lips and on my eyelids. so far, this is an effective regimen that i've grown accustomed to(twice daily routine):

    1. wash face with celeteque hydration facial wash.
    2. pat ice on my whole face for 10 minutes or more(ice tubig plastic-size)
    3. let my skin rest and subside after pore-ice treatment.
    4. apply pond's acne expert facial toner(the only pond's product that works for me), wait for a minute and apply celeteque acne solutions facial toner(this works wonders!)then let it dry.
    5. apply celeteque hydration facial moisturizer and let it absorb for a few minutes.
    6. apply spot correcting medicated concealer from revlon(contains salycilic acid) on my acne and noticeable acne marks then put on maybelline clear smooth face powder(the one in green)

i'm a guy with abnormally problematic skin

yes i put corrective, relatively undetectable makeup on to make my facial skin look better.

call me vain but it's the only way i know to confidently face the world outside my house.

now people don't look at my skin problems. they look me in the eyes.

as of last saturday, gumamit na ako ng (KAMATIS at LEMON) tapos ngaun naubos na kc ung cleanser kya gamit ko is (OLIVE-C anti pimple ingredient)
    ngaun regiment ko is..
*olive-c, * kamatis w/ lemon (for 20-30mins masking) *celeteque toner *ung 2 gel spot

  44. Hi Janet! vain_guy here. :)
i'll give you and your readers a few more tips.
    -change your pillowcase every week
-use your facial toner religiously as most of them prevents further acne formation
-pat some ice. (the size of the ice, the technique and the length of exposure to it varies on every person's skin)
-wash your face morning and evening.
-SLEEP EARLY AND ADEQUATELY!(i know, i know. who does in 2012?)

And the best tip I could give you is: (drumroll)

Don't think much of your acne. Take care of it but don't mind it 24/7. Don't stress on it. more stress = more acne. and don't worry coz in the end, we're gonna look 65 when we turn 85. people with oily skin don't age as fast as regular people does.

keep up your blog it's very helpful!

    1. Haha! for the pillow case, yeah I think I need to do that like right now I'll change my pillowcase... with regards to sleeping early, ehhh not quite achievable therefore move to the next step which is not to stalk my acne like 24/7. Ok I will try not to look on them 24/7 but can I follow them on twitter instead? lolz~
thanks for the comments, appreciate much =)

    1. Hi Mika, the reason of you developing 2 or 3 pimples might just because you slept late or some stress. It is not even considered as acne prone skin. It would normally go away in a few days without using any acne related products. I would suggest not to use acne related products kasi it might be too harsh to your skin even though you have oily skin. I would probably recommend just use the spot correcting gel to those affected areas and use an ordinary cleanser and oil-free moisturizer. Hope this helps =)

    1. Hi Mikam I haven't use the suncare moisturizing cream so I can't really comment on that. As for irritation, it really depends on your skin but you can try testing out the product in the counter first just to be sure. Also, you can consult the SA of Celeteque with regards what products really suits your skin =)

hello po, i've been using acne cleansing gel and its seems like its really working good for me, ive been using it for almost 2 weeks and i can see the result. but the problem is naddhydrate face ko ayaw ko din gumamit ng moisturizer kc in several hour grabi ang oil sa face ko aside from that dhl sa dhydration nagkaroon ako ng maliit naaa pimples. so,i bought yung back acne spray, ok lang ba yun i apply sa face?

il just update if im contented of the result . anyway tnx ms. Janet dito ko nakita ang celteque if how it works in acne problem. it really helps me a lot.

generally, celteque really works, now, im curious about the acne spot. later im gonna buy it after school .

    1. Hi Kris,
I haven't used the back acne spray but I really would NOT suggest spraying onto your face as the ingredient might be too harsh since it was targeted for backne talaga. If nagdehydrate skin mu and you don't like moisturizer, try using aloe vera gel instead as it provides enough hydration and your skin won't be oily at all. Healthy Option carries Jason's Aloe vera gel which is a nice product but I would recommend the Nature's Republic Aloe vera gel instead as it is more light-weight and easily absorbed onto skin. Hope this helps =)

  53. Hi! I opened your blog while searching for kojie san reviews. Same here, I have been fighting acne for soooooooooo many years. It started since 3rd grade and I am already in college btw. Walang araw na wala akong pimples. Pag nawala ngayon, bukas meron nanaman. It was such a depressing moment of my life. Oily, dark skinned, and pimply girl I was since then. Tried all the prickings, derma, ointments, lahat. I even consulted a doctor in a reputable hospital, pero wala pa din. Until I decided to try Mena cream out of the blue. My initial goal was to lighten my complexion lang, as it promises whiter skin but it did a whole lot better. Ever since I started using Mena, hindi na ako nagkaka-pimples. During PMS, walang pimples at all. The best part is, ang bilis ng results. I don't even have to use it everyday. It just blocked all the pimples away. Right now, I don't suffer from pimples anymore, but with acne marks naman. But it was a great, great, great improvement. I don't know how to thank more the product for saving me from those depressing times.

  54. Hi. I've been suffering from acne for 4 years now. I tried using colgate/mouthwash cos someone told me it can help but it made my acne worse. Then I tried derma it's too pricey and facials are really painful. Then proactiv it dried my skin so much. I finally learned to look for non comedogenic products. I tried cetaphil and physiogel moisturizer it did not make my acne worse but it did not lessen zits also. Now I've been using celeteque Dermoscience facial wash (the pink one-whitening) then every other night I use celeteque hydration gentle exfoliating scrub, tone with celeteque hydration alcohol free toner (with mixed dalacin-c 3 capsules) I switched to non comedogenic make ups (garnier powder, maybelline blush, maybelline concealer) and human nature sunflower beauty oil as moisturizer sunflower oil is non comedogenic and it is full of vitamins. ( I apply it at night only) I stopped the toner with dalacin c already because my face cleared up. before it's like there's no space for a new people in my face now I get 2 to 3 pimples during my monthly visit but that's it. I also drink edmarks chlorophyll drink it helps in detoxifying my system since I'm not much of a veggie eater.

  58. Hi miss 3 here. Yes you have to try human nature. Ive been able to buy products in trinoma beauty bar. But it's better if you go to their store it's in commonwealth after caltex. Sunflower beauty oil made my skin healthier pero mung una hesitant ako kasi baka maging oily lalo pero naabsorb agad ng skin. It did lighten my dark spots pero problem parin ung mga maliliit na uka at pores. They say diamond peel is the answer. It's really challenging to have oily/acne prone skin. Pero tiyaga lang talaga sa products you have to try also human nature tinted lip balms and lipstick based on ur pic they would look lovely on you. :)

    1. It really depends on the condition of your skin. If you have acnes spots that need to get rid off, the spot treatment is essential. Pero if you think that you just wanted to control oil and prevent acnes then the wash and toner is pretty enough. Hope this helps =)

    3. Hi dear! Sadly no, the wash and toner simply controls/heal acnes but doesn't really fade or even lightens dark spots. You still need a lightening cream/gel if your main concern is dark spots. I'm currently using Neostrata lightening Gel and it works really well! I'll post up the review soon =) With regards to combining other products with Celeteque, its better to test both products in your hands first to see if there are sensitivity issues just to be sure. Mabibili sa trinoma healthy options 400+ php plus ung braggs apple cider vinegar sa healthy options din 120+ php imimix mo sya. you really have to put effort in this regimen plus the smell of raw apple cider vinegar pa (yes it should be raw best brand is braggs) pero it's all worth it if you want an effective regimen to achieve ACNE FREE SKIN. try it guys really great product you can read reviews from acne.org and other sites. again nice blog sis. :)

    1. You know what? I am undergoing the same process as you are. My skin before was flawless. I really wasn't worried about pimples and stuff before. My secret was the Eskinol(Lemon or Calamansi) + Dalacin C Regimen. It was incredibly effective. I used it for 4 years. Those four years were indeed my golden years. After graduating, I noticed something different, something horribly eerie. I had pimplets, the small version of pimples. I wasn't really bothered at first because I had my secret "weapon" but shockingly, these pimplets transormed into huge and scary pimples. My face became red and bumpy. My sister told me that my face may have become immunized to the Dalacin C. Depressingly, I am actually believing her right now. Currently, I'm looking for a solution. I'm using the garnier pure active range. Although my face is not as amazing as it was before, at least there is a noticeable improvement. If I can only bring back time. Sigh. I am so depressed. T.T

  83. Hi Ms Janet, thanks for sharing this to us.Glad to know that your acne has been cleared up by these products.I've been battling severe acne too for almost three years. It was really given me a low self esteemed and confidence. I went to many dermatologists in other countries and here also in the Philippines it just working like one month and it comes and goes. What really worse is they just cost me a fortune. One of my Doctor told me that I need a balance diet so I did it and been a vegetarian and frutarian for almost half year now.Fortunately this method really works for me my acne started to cleared up and it's gone now and I'm hoping it will not come back anymore! I still continued using night cream now to lighten up the scarring area.Have you heard GT product?these products is the best products I've ever used, you can search it if you want. The night cream and sunblock is very suitable for my skin. Now I'm happy again butI have plan to buy these products you've suggested too maybe I'll just get the facial wash but not for acne anymore. :-)

    1. Thanks for sharing your experience! I actually tried avoiding all fried/chips and foods that "might" cause pimples for a month but in the end I notice that I still develop acne despite avoiding those. Good thing, the healthy diet didn't work on me because that means I get to eat those "unhealthy" food again without worrying that they are the culprits to my pimples lolz! I haven't heard of GT products and I tried googling it but can't seems to find it =( Would you mind sharing more of the GT products you mentioned as it sounds pretty interesting ^_~ Thanks! =)

  85. I've started using Acne Clearing Moisturizing Gel, when I got pregnant my skin started to break out again. It got me really frustrated and I can't seem to use ANY products cause preggies aren't allowed to use anything with tretinion or any other acne medications. It's very frustrating but I'm trying to keep it lightly cause my breakouts are caused by hormones. My skin is starting to clear up but it got very dry that's why I bought the moisturizer, I've used it for a day and it's okay. For those dealing with pimples, from what I've read and understood, it takes days or weeks for pimples to form. Kung nagstart kayo gumamit ng certain product and the next day a pimple popped out don't quickly blame the new product baka kase days before nagfoform na talaga yun pimple. I agree with one comment here, do NOT stress about your break outs and drink LOTS of water.

    1. I'm not sure as it really depends how your skin reacts. You might be experiencing purging which I also did experience in some other products. But for the case of Eskinol, I didn't experience purging.

  87. Hello Ms. Janet,
I have read almost half of your blogs and it is very informative. Good job!
I've also experimented on heaps of products myself and quite honestly andami ko ng half used na products all of them ranging from P50 to P2,500 worth. I guess what I can share from my experience is, that some people should also take note that their acne problem can be caused by different factors and not just by finding products that works and then expect it to stay consistent regardless of what practices, activities and genetic make up we have. It is a constant battle until we have identified the real culprit then we solve it if there's a remedy.
My acne is caused by hormones, infections and genetics.
I have tried certain remedies orally like the Diane 45 pills. My face cleared up for a while but I have stopped because of the side effects I get from it (I become quite cranky/moody easily)---sadly my pimples came alive again. I also tried using Erythromycin/clindamycin antibiotics for a week and it worked to clear my skin which means my problem then was also dirt and skin infection but I can't keep taking antibiotics all my life, right, so the acne popped back again. My dad is an acne sufferer in his teens and also has skin allergies which I both inherited, yehay! So since I have skin allergies I stay away from food that triggers it and I also use hypoallergenic products because there are ingredients that will cause allergies and create rashes that will look like pimples, as in my case. I only use Celeteque, Neutrogena and Cetaphil product range. These are non-comedogenic products (meaning they won't clog pores so no pimples). Although, I might consider going to a dermatologist to get a cortisone shot for acne/pimples but only as my last resort. Basta ang advice ko muna try using non-comedogenic products especially if you have sensitive skin. Like the above products I've mentioned it works for me. I use Cetaphil antibacterial soap as my bath soap because I have chest and back acne and my acne ceased from appearing almost immediately (as in 3 days). But take note of this: My observation with the non-comedogenic products is that it doesn't quite remove the acne scars and the blemishes but it definitely prevented new breakouts which is good enough for me. I don't think treating acne should be painful. I don't really recommend the peeling system, I think it is ridiculous, it only makes our skin more vulnerable to dirt, plus prone to UV rays and it makes pimples go deeper into the layers of our skin so it's useless. We slough off dead skin naturally just by washing our face and exfoliating once a week. My take with using skin products is: the lesser the pain it gives to the skin the lesser irritation it produces so less acne appears. Take vitamin C supplements it really helps as well (Sodium Ascorbate).
Keep this blog going let's help each other.

    2. Well Janet, you must know by now how many people you have informed because of your blog and you should be proud of this achievement. It is pretty tough for any of us to experiment on ourselves by trying to use different products that promise good skin at least temporarily. But I'm glad that you have the knowledge, courage and selflessness to share your reviews as you go on so you can help others choose the right products for them. I would highly recommend noncomedogenic products from soap, facial wash, toners, moisturizers and make up because it has really been helpful for me regardless of the price, it is worth it. This is my contribution to your blog. In the hope that you and everybody else find the right products for your skins.
      Keep it up Janet!

    1. Hi Phoebe,
Celeteque doesn't work in fading or lightening of scars. It simply heals existing breakouts. For lightening of scars, I would recommend using the Aztec which I've reviewed here:www.allaboutjyl.blogspot.com/2012/05/aztec-indian-healing-clay-review-fotd.html

I have super unhealthy lifestyle din, even though I don't sleep and eat healthy but I made sure to drink plenty enough of water. I really can't assure if it would work despite stress but drinking plenty of water would help hydrate skin and eliminate bacteria from forming so at least intake plenty of water..^_~

      Hope this helps =)

  98. Hi Janet, i got a question. I have acne but my breakouts are like once or twice in a year, and this year it started 2 months ago. i remember my fan broke and i had to sleep with no fan for like 3 nights . also the weather that time was horrible back in the province. that is where everything started going bad. the right side of my face was suffering the most. developed those cystic stuff... until now it keeps doing so. since December of 2011 everything was okay. i was even using the clean and clear acne facial cleanser and it was working . but now its like it has no effect. a month ago i came back to manila and suddenly saw celeteque acne cleansing gel. this is my first time to see a celeteque product for acne. I'm planning to buy the celeteque acne cleansing gel tomorrow, is it okay to just use the cleansing gel? or do i really need to use the other products as well? hoping for a quick reply. thank you :)

    1. Hi badz, the cleansing gel doesn't really work for me. Actually, I found the cleansing gel the least effective of the entire range. If you just looking for a facial cleanser then Clean & clear would be much effective. But if you are looking for a spot treatment then try the celeteque spot treatment.

      Hope this helps =)

    1. Hi dear, I'm not sure if its purging stage because I also experience it when I use some other acne products. Give it another week and monitor if it tends to stop or still continue purging. If you still continue to purge then I suggest stop using it and go back to your normal routine. Also, I do suggest using Aztec mask as it tends to control breakout faster. I've done a review here: allaboutjyl.blogspot.com/2012/05/aztec-indian-healing-clay-review-fotd.html

Also, if you encounter any discomfort please do check with your dermatologist for safety.

  105. Hello. was suffering also from acne. I am a boy. I am using olive c anti pimple soap effective po ba to? kasi first day ko palang sya gnamit.

    1. Hello! I've never tried olive c anti pimple soap so I really can't comment if its effective or not...But since you are using it already might as well continue it para naman hindi masayang.hehe..But take note that once you feel any discomfort I suggest to stop using it asap. For the Celeteque corrector gel I use it thrice a day, kahit nasa office ako nagpapahid ako, hehehe. Since its transparent naman so people won't notice =) If you want you could also try the Aztec Mask as spot treatment it works even on cystic acne. I've done a review here:

    2. Hello. Miss janet. thanks for your reply.

Just to be safe, be sure to check if your skin can tolerate Hydroquinone or not.

  109. Hi Janet, the yoko spot acne solution is very effective for me. The prob is it has become a part of my regimen daily. Even if i don't have ppimples which usually appears on my nose and chin, i still continue to apply a thin amount of it on these areas as a preventive measure and so i haven't had any pimple for a mmonth now. Is it ok to do this? Does it have any side effect?
