FAIL slimming products (Loreal, Face Shop, Etude House, Missha)

I’m a very lazy person so I wanted everything shortcut that includes losing weight. I’ve been obese since birth, ok let me correct; not actually since birth. I’m freaking skinny during my kinder garden days but started to balloon since then. My weight reached the plateau when I’m on my 4th grade, I think I am the heaviest in the class that time.


I didn’t really care much about my weight as I love food more than anything. Anyway to cut this emo story short, I started to care about my health issues on my college days and that is the time I started purchasing creams, lotions, essences thinking that by merely patting those so-called “miracle” products would actually make me skinny!

Here are the products I purchased that didn’t work at all! So if you guys are planning to purchase some of these, think again~ (you don’t want your $$$ to go to trash eh?)

And here are the latter Slimming products that I’ve tried and conclude is a total waste of money:


Brand: Etude House
1) Hot Slim Gel

- tingly warm feeling but would fade after around 10 minutes.
- very sticky


2) Cool- Slim Scrub Wash

- cools your skin but leaves rashes and allergy on my skin
- the scrub beads is too rough


3) After Slim Cream

- smooth and creamy substance but is a little too oily on my skin

4) Sweet Appleade Anti-Cellulite Body Gel

- consistency is too thick and sticky


5) Sweet Appleade Anti-Cellulite Body Wash

- cool creamy wash


Does it work? NO, it doesn’t even smooth my skin.


Brand: MISSHA
1) HOT BURNING-SALT BODY SCRUB

- experience mild warm feeling; rough scrub beads that gives me rashes


Does it work? NO, it doesn’t even cleanse my skin well.


Brand: THE FACE SHOP

1) CELLU-L STOP BODY CREAM

- nice consistency; blends into skin; not sticky

2) CELLU-L STOP BODY WASH

- strong caffeine smell, cools your skin that may last around 20-30 minutes


3) CELLU-L STOP BODY GEL
- strong caffeine smell, experience very cool feeling and would make you sweat


4) CELLU-L STOP- INTENSIVE BODY PATCH

- cool feeling


Does it work? Yes and No, I don’t see any reduction or lightening of cellulite but it does help reduce water retention. It can help you get rid of excess fluids by sweating without having to do hardcore exercise.


Brand:LOREAL
1) PERFECT SLIM

- smooth consistency, makes your skin smooth


2) PERFECT LASER

- metallic greenish color that may stain on your skin.
- smooth consistency


Does it work? A definite NO. The price is kinda pricey yet it doesn’t do anything, no sweat, no reduction. It just works like an ordinary lotion.


Brand:NIVEA
1) My Silhoutte

- rich creamy consistency, easy to spread and blends into skin


2) Good-Bye Cellulite

- thick sticky consistency that makes it difficult to spread into skin


Does it work? NO. It just works like an ordinary lotion, tends to provide moisture on skin.


Upon trying 348632452342 slimming products, none of them really works! I guess I have to save more money, I mean like hella money for me to try out some non-surgical weight loss treatment….Any recommendations?

Payday Hauls: Mario Badescu, The Face Shop + MB Giveaways!!!

This is the main reason why my bank account is still in negative despite me working for 23754645343 years already. I should learn and avoid passing by any malls so that I’ll be able to save up my medical bill I’ll be needing in the future or maybe soon… (-___-)”

(but this won’t be my last haul; at least I’ve tried minimizing my spending habit by avoiding passing unnecessary shops such as Watson’s and Maybelline’s counter)

Anyway back to the haul thingy; I need to drop by Rustan’s because I ran out of my staple facial cleanser which is Mario Badescu’s Kerotoplast Cream Soap and Buffering Lotion as I’m kinda breaking out lately so I desperately needed them. However, they ran out of Buffering Lotion so i decided to just skip and leave immediately to avoid temptation.But……...I just couldn’t resist to take a few more glance on the other MB products so I purchased the Herbal hydrating Serum. Basically this serum can be used as moisturizers for extra hydration especially designed for oily skin.  I’ll make an indepth review on this together with the other MB trial packs I received on my last purchase. 

My next purchase and also my last haul for this week is the Face Shop’s MODEL DESIGNER-cellui-stop body gel. Basically it’s a body gel claiming that it will be able to stimulates the decomposition of cellulite while inhibiting the fat deposit process. I needed this because I have lots of cellulite and I’m actually on my 2^nd bottle but haven’t seen massive improvement yet. And due to STUPIDITY and NOT reading properly I initially needed a body wash because I ran out of body wash at home and since I happen to pass by face shop’s store I grab this tube not knowing that it is a gel NOT wash and when I got home I just realized that I got the wrong tube. (I ‘m too lazy to go back and return it so this is just a lesson learn that to always READ before making any purchase)

I’ll make a review on this together with the other slimming products I’’ve tried before soon.

I’ll just make a very quick reviews on some items I usually use daily:

Etude House- Light Bronze eyeshadow

 

                            -          has a very light bronzy metallic shade yet full of shimmery

                            -          Not heavy; can be wore on daytime; pretty natural

 

Etude House- Peach Tint Chou

                                              -          Gives watery peachy gloss,to lips

Skin Food- Fresh Fruit Lip & Cheek in APRICOT

                                               -          Gives silky light peach look to lips/cheeks

Etude House- Miss Tangerine- Cheek Ball

                        -          Gives you a shade of Sweet Summer Sun-kissed look

                        -          A subtle blush with added shimmery that could warms your face up

Battle of the Eyelash Curler:  Fanny Serrano versus Nichido

Yeah, yeah we all know that Shu Uemura and Shiseido are the ones who holds the throne for being the best eyelash curler for decades! Every fashionista must have both or either one on their make-up bag, but is it really worth shelfing out that much gram for just an Eyelash Curler?

At first, I was succumb by all the great reviews of the amazing Shu Uemura and Shiseido eyelash curler which tempted me to buy both! But luckily, I dig on deeper and youtube more videos and decided NOT to buy those amazing yet so expensive eyelash curler.

Upon further googling, I realized that both Shu Uemura and Shiseido eyelash curler doesn’t differ that much except for some tiny points:

Shu Uemura-à tighter grip/limited expansion on the handle

Shiseido-à loose grip/ wide expansion on the handle

Shu Uemuraà curler is much wider and larger, will be able to curl all parts of eyelashes at once

Shiseidoà curler is shorter and smaller, some parts might be left uncurl, must curl for several parts

The reason why I state out Shu Uemura and Shiseido is basically there’s a local version of those two but with 100x cheaper price!

Introducing Fanny Serrano Eyelash Curler- the appearance and its function resemblance Shu Uemura. While the local version of Shiseido’s is Nichido’s Eyelash Curler.

The Difference between the two and which to purchase:

Fanny Serrano Eyelash Curler is designed a little archer compare to Nichido’s. Thus if you have a rounder eyelid then its better for you to use FS eyelash curler, if you have a kinda flat eyelid then choose Nichido’s.

Fanny Serrano Eyelash Curler is much wider and bigger compare to Nichido’s. Thus if you have wider and bigger eyes its better to use FS eyelash curler, if the length of your eyes is quite short then use Nichido’s.

Fanny Serrano Eyelash Curler produces tight up curl in one curling as for Nichido’s it produces a more natural wavy curl.

If you can’t decide which one is more suitable then buy both cuz’ its so damn cheap; price is around $4 each. But the quality is the same as the world’s famous Eyelash Curlers so there’s nothing to worry.

Double Eyelid Tape and Glue Review

Today I’m going to review about Double Eyelid Tape and Double Eyelid Glue.

For those who don’t have an idea what the heck is Double Eyelid Tape/Glue, it may be because you are lucky to be born with big beautiful eyes so you wouldn’t know there’s a so-called “Double Eyelid Tape/Glue” existed in this world.

What is Double Eyelid Tape/Glue?

Eyelid tape is a clear pre cut adhesive tape that is placed on the eyelid in order to provide crease and also to reduce drooping of the eyelids. 

While Eyelid Glue is a water-soluble adhesive that can be applied on the upper eyelid, which is then pushed upward with a plastic prong and held in place by the adhesive. This method creates or enhances a fold in the eyelid ("double eyelid") that opens up the eye exposing the eyelashes. 

Eyelid tapes/glues are best suitable for people with weak eyelids that are droopy, who wants to create double crease eyelid, and small cheeky eyes.

Why I use it?

1)      I’m Asian and born with small eyes

2)      I have uneven eyes- right with crease and left with weak crease

My picture always turns out so ugly due to my uneven eyes, thus I needed an eyelid tape/glue to even out my eyes.

Here’s my review on Double Eyelid Tape/Glue:

I bought my Double Eyelid Tape at Etude House, nothing special just ark shaped tape.  The length of the tape matches the width of my eyes thus I don’t need to trim them.

I only wear Eyelid Tape at night and leave it overnight so that the crease on my right eye would look a bit deeper next morning.  I really don’t advise people to put on Eyelid Tape when going out without make-up because it looks so obvious and weird. But if you are going for a special occasion, adding an Eyelid Tape with heavy make-up would look great as the tape can be conceal under the make-up.

As for the Double Eyelid Glue, the application can be quite messy if you don’t apply it on the right areas. The reason why I purchase a Double Eyelid Glue is because I have watched this video. 

The demonstration in the video looks as if it is clean and easy to apply, but after purchasing eyelid glue I find it a total opposite.  I bought my Double Eyelid Glue at Daiso and “66 Big Eye Line Charm” from Etude House. I tried following the directions on the video but end up messing it all up. 

Why I don’t like Eyelid Glue:

-à Once applied, the glue will get dry and form into a white/transparent element stuck on your eyelid

-à If you have thick eyelids, the glue isn’t strong enough to hold the eyelid

-à Doesn’t last long; it would only create nice clean crease for about 10mins

--> My eyelids develops rashes everytime I put on eyelid glue

I really don’t recommend Eyelid Glue as it has a lot of cons/flaws in it. So if you really want to have those creases deepen then stick with Eyelid tape.

There’s another thingy called “Stretch fibre” which claims that this can perfectly create a natural-looking eyelid crease. I haven’t tried it yet cuz’ I’m having a hard time searching where to buy this product.

The illustration seems convincing but I have yet to try those. Anyone who’s selling or knows where to buy please let me know…^_^
